Founded in 2017, Borneo International School comprises of both a Primary and Secondary School on the same campus and is accredited to Cambridge International Education (CIE) UK. We are truly one school with a common aim to provide a holistic education that not only prepares students for life but also recognises that these school years are intrinsically precious and should be enjoyable, memorable and transformative. Borneo International School was established to bring internationally recognized education at affordable fees to the community.
Our educational expectations will bring out the best of children, in academic and social terms as well as making them more aware of the wider world and their personal opportunities beyond school.
The school is nestled at Tabuan Laru, 4 km northeast of Kuching International airport and 7-8 km from the Kuching city centre. Borneo International School is co-educational and follows the British educational system so that our students will receive international educational qualifications via Cambridge University International Examinations (CIE), for which we are an accredited examination centre. Such credentials are recognized worldwide for entrance into university and other forms of tertiary education.
The new campus will be at Saradise and will be ready by December 2022. The overall architectural design is about a unique learning environment to nurture and inspire students, teachers and staff. The infrastructure is about making connections at different levels- physical connections between the campus infrastructure and the surroundings- residential, business as well as between the Primary, Secondary and Administration blocks. In short, the School's Vision for academic excellence, life-long learning, character building, social responsibility and inspiring self-confidence, is deeply embodied in this new school to take our students to even greater personal academic heights.

The Borneo International Group of Schools´ involvement with education stretches back more than 15 years. The desire to transform lives for the benefit of our future generations was the driving force behind the establishment of numerous educational institutions in Malaysia.
Indeed, we at Borneo International School strongly believe that laying the proper moral and educational foundations will prepare our children for academic excellence and develop their personal character. Children who are equipped with extensive yet applicable knowledge whilst possessing virtuous characters will definitely be welcomed additions to society.
Accordingly, Borneo International School is offering our students an internationally acclaimed educational system through our adoption of the United Kingdom´s Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) syllabus. In addition, we conduct character-transformation programmes (using materials that have been developed in-house) to equip our students with a broader spectrum of understanding and addressing societal issues. This will help prepare them for more informed decision-making at all stages of development into adulthood. We will strive to develop in our students moral attributes within the framework of a mutually respectful and caring environment. It is our ultimate aim to transform future generations of children into individuals and adults who embody integrity in every aspect of their lives.
While we recognize that the pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong one, the early inculcation of the love of learning, together with impressing upon our students the value of having good character traits from young, will be crucial in the prevention of the students´ departure from such values when they arrive at adulthood. Borneo International School wants our students to grow up with commendable values and adopt qualities that stand out for good citizenship and a respectful fear of God.
The duties of parents do not cease beyond their homes, nor do those of teachers after their classes are over. Hence, we proactively engage with parents to help them stay abreast of their children´s development at our school. This collaboration enables us to derive the best instructions to create confident and successful students.
An exciting range of indoor and outdoor extracurricular activities that take advantage of our state-of-the-art facilities have been designed to encourage our students to stay fit and healthy. These services are further complemented by a resource-driven and relevant curriculum to ensure that our students receive a wholesome education at Borneo International School.
Lastly, we pledge to remain active in the local Kuching community to educate and impact the lives of our children for the benefit of our future generations.
I look forward to welcoming you to our Borneo International School family.

This, I am sure, will be reflected in the pride of my students and their parent´s pride of their academic achievements. I welcome all parents to visit me personally and view my school and its amazing facilities.
You will not be disappointed!
Ms Florence Chew
In my visits to each of the already long established international schools in Peninsular Malaysia, belonging to the group of schools, to which Borneo International School will join, I have been most impressed by the high quality of education and facilities on offer at affordable fees. Borneo International School will maintain these high standards, for enthusiastic teachers will provide quality education to equally enthusiastic children aiming to gain internationally recognized qualifications.
In a well chosen and easily accessible location, I wish this new school, its teachers and students every success in lifelong learning and in their contributions to the local community.
